“In response to pupils’ interests, teachers delve into matters beyond that originally intended. In year 5 science, for instance, when pupils learned about the planets, they asked to learn about black holes in space. As a result, pupils achieve high standards across subjects.”

Upper School (Years 5 & 6)

As the girls become more independent learners, French replaces Spanish as a Modern Foreign Language and Latin and History of Art are introduced also. Both year groups participate in two joint productions – the Drama Club Shakespeare in the Spring Term and a musical in the Summer Term, that is staged for two evenings before Prize Giving.

In the summer term of Year 5 thoughts turn towards the 11+ and possible scholarship applications. The school provides a great deal of support to the girls and their parents in looking at options and making decisions, following our firm belief in finding the best school for each individual, where they will continue to thrive in a learning environment best suited to them.
